Power is an immensely popular show on Starz that has been on the air since 2014. Despite its massive viewership, it has failed to gain recognition from the Television Academy, the Golden Globes, and the SAG Awards. The show is currently in its sixth and final season and has yet to be nominated for any awards. However, it boasts a large and dedicated fanbase that have helped make it one of Starz's most watched shows. Series creator Courtney Kemp and executive producer Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson have both signed wide-ranging deals with Lionsgate, the parent company of Starz. The creators have expressed their disappointment in the lack of awards recognition they have received, with 50 Cent attributing it to a race issue. They now have the opportunity to create four spinoffs of the original series, starting with “Power Book 2: Ghost” starring Mary J. Blige.
